PERFORMANCE GUARANTEE
Scrubbster Detailing believes you should get what you pay for and you shouldn’t have to jump through warranty hoops if you experience problems with your ceramic coating. What separates us from our competitors is that we offer a performance guarantee on all our applied ceramic coatings. If one of our coatings fail before they are supposed to, will set up another appointment with you and make it right at no cost to you!
Performance Guarantee Policy
1. What We Guarantee (Our Promise)
We guarantee that your vehicle’s ceramic coating has been applied according to the strict preparation and application standards set by Armour Detail Supply.
For a period of 3 Years following application, we guarantee that the coating will:
Retain hydrophobic properties (water beading and sheeting).
Resist chemical etching from atmospheric pollutants, bird droppings, and tree sap, provided they are promptly washed off.
Protect against UV oxidation and clear coat fading.
If the coating fails prematurely due to installation error or product defect, we will re-evaluate, perform a chemical decontamination wash, and re-apply the coating to affected panels at zero cost to you.
2. Required Curing Period (First 7 Days)
Armour Detail Supply coatings require time to fully cross-link and cure.
First 24 Hours: The vehicle must remain completely dry and free from rain, sprinkler water, or road spray.
First 7 Days: Do NOT wash the vehicle, use soap, or apply any chemical cleaners.
Contaminants: If bird droppings, tree sap, water spots, etc., are discovered, DONOTPANIC. Take the provided microfiber towel, douse with water, and lay the microfiber towel over the contaminate for about 30 seconds to disrupt the contaminant’s bond with the coating. Blot the contaminate from the surface, do not rub the contaminant.
Voiding Trigger: Exposing the vehicle to harsh chemicals, automated car washes, or manual washing within the initial 7-day cure window immediately voids all performance guarantees.
3. Client Responsibilities & Maintenance Requirements
Ceramic coatings are LOWmaintenance, not NO maintenance. To keep your guarantee valid, customers must strictly adhere to the following maintenance protocols:
Proper Wash Techniques: Wash the vehicle every 2–4 weeks using high quality wash mitts or high quality microfibertowels (we recommend a 75/25 blend). Make sure to rinse out your wash media in a bucket with a grit guard after each panel to avoid scratching your coating.
Touchless Washing: You may use a high quality foam cannon and pressure washer set up as a touchless washing option. Alternatively, you may also use a self-service touchless wash bay to wash your own car but do not use any brushes and use your own chemicals (watch Armour Detail Supply’s video on how to do this safely https://youtu.be/yn3f8ZfwBhc?is=Ggb0hVbHZbjHmxew).
Automatic Car Washing: DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES USE AN AUTOMATIC CAR WASH.
Soap/Shampoo: Always a pH-neutral, coating-safe shampoo (such as Armour Detail Supply’s Shampoo+ Soap). You can use other pH-neutral soaps as long as there no added waxes/fillers.
Waxes and Sealants: Avoid using any ceramic sealants or waxes. Ceramic coatings do not require adding sealants or waxes. However, if desired, we recommend only using Armour Detail Supply’s Amplify to add additional layers of protection. ALWAYS use quality microfiber (we recommend using a 70/30 blend) towels when using a waterless wash spray or quick detail spray.
Drying: Use a clean, plush microfiber towel with a dedicated drying aid (such as Armour Detail Supply Amplify) or a touchless air blower.
Contaminant Removal: Just like during the curing process, bird droppings, bug splatter, hard water spots (from sprinklers, garden hoses, etc.), and tree sap, must be promptly and gently removed as soon as they are discovered. Allowing the contaminants to soak underneath an microfiber towel is an effective method of removal. If contaminants are left to bake on the surface for extended periods, they can damage even the toughest coatings.
Annual Inspection & Decontamination: The vehicle must be serviced by Scrubbster Detailing every 12 months for a professional decontamination wash and topper application to maintain the guarantee.
4. Exclusion of Liability (Negligence & Voiding Conditions)
This guarantee covers workmanship and product performance only. We are explicitly not liable for coating degradation or paint failure resulting from client negligence or outside forces.
The guarantee is strictly VOID under the following conditions:
Automated Car Washes: Taking the vehicle through any automatic car washes (which use aggressive pH chemicals that strip coatings).
Neglect & Lack of Washing: Allowing severe dirt, salt, brake dust, or mineral deposits to sit on the vehicle for weeks at a time, causing heavy contamination build-up (often mistaken for coating failure).
Improper Washing Practices: Using dirty sponges, brush washes at self-serve bays, dish soap, low quality microfiber towels, or abrasive towels that cause micro-marring, swirl marks, or scratches.
Physical Damage: Scratches, swirl marks, rock chips, rusting, accidents, vandalism, or paint peeling caused by underlying clear coat failure.
Unauthorized Chemical Use: Application of unapproved waxes, harsh solvents, heavy compounds, or third-party sealants over the coating.
Failure to Attend Annual Inspection: Skipping the required annual professional maintenance service.
5. Standard Evaluation Process
If you believe your coating is underperforming:
Contact us to schedule an inspection.
We will perform a deep chemical decontamination wash. (In 90% of cases, "lost hydrophobics" are simply clogged pores due to road film and require a deep wash, not re-application).
If hydrophobics return after unclogging the surface, the guarantee remains intact.
If the coating remains degraded due to application or material failure, we will re-coat the impacted area free of charge. If failure is due to neglect, standard detailing service fees will apply.
Client Acknowledgment
By scheduling services with Scrubbster Detailing, the customer acknowledges to have read, understand, and agree to the maintenance guidelines and exclusions outlined in this Performance Guarantee.
